We live in a world that offers a wide variety of automotive products for our projects. Many look good, are marketed well, and claim to fit and perform as advertised. We also exist in an era where social media provides an impression of how we receive information—this includes product reviews and recommendations. Where much of this information can provide benefit, in other ways it can be manipulated or should be weighed with a skeptic eye.
Here within the realm of Century Performance Center our standard is to not only provide our customers the best prices, but to offer the brands and products that represent our own high standards of quality. For example:
- Products that fit without unexpected modifications
- Warranties that support the value of the product
- Customer service from the manufacturer both before and after the sale
- Product reliability and longevity
- Avoid the hype and provide clear facts and information on the products we offer
It is these and other factors that are weighed against actual cost. To be clear, we also live in a era where fewer and fewer items are manufactured within the United States. It must be understood that we exist in a global economy. This does not necessarily mean that these products are of lower quality (though that can be true). Of course, much of the reason for domestic companies outsourcing to other countries for manufacturing is pure greed by those running the companies. The bottom line becomes profit for investors and huge CEO salaries that becomes a primary consideration over product quality, customer service, or dealer networks that support the economy and customer base.
One concern for the consumer is to beware of poor quality copies, whether marketed under its own brand or that of a popular brand or reseller. Copycat or “seller branded” imports can provide cost savings at the expense of quality and reliability. Caveat Emptor! (Buyer Beware!)
Century Performance Center actively sources product manufacturers who support the customer and provide quality products backed by a representative warranty. It is possible to find that we do not offer specific products if we deem them below our standard of quality. This is also true for certain product brands—including those brands with a history of top quality that have turned sour after changing ownership or other factors.
